My Story
I've owned Great Pyrenees for a few years now and have developed a strong love for this breed which of course led to me to follow a dream/passion of mine to become a great breeder. In doing research and learning everything needed to pursue my dream, I've found so much mis-information in regards to the Great Pyrenees and knew from there I had to help in preserving this ancient, loyal, well loved breed. I searched around, found my beautiful girl but also a mentor and friend in her breeder, along with another pyr breeder who has helped me get started on the right track. My goal is to raise top quality Pyrenees with great temperaments, structure & sound healthy pups. Pups will be socialized to people, horses, cats, noises, car rides, etc. Puppies will be raised with Puppy Culture, ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation) and I will begin crate training. Puppies are AKC registered and health checked by a licensed veterinarian before leaving to their new homes. Up to Date on all vaccinations, deworming...
We live on 7 1/2 acres in Elbert, CO near the Latigo Trail Equestrian.
A Great Pyrenees is fiercely loyal to his flock, both human and animal. He feels responsible for you, your family and your property. He is your friend and not your slave.

A Bit About the Pyrenees
Males grow to 100 pounds and up, 27-32 inches in height, while females reach 85 pounds and up, 26-31 inches in height. On average their life span is 10 to 12 years. Principally white in color but may also have markings of badger, gray or tan. The Great Pyrenees is confident, gentle (especially with children) and affectionate. While territorial and protective of its flock or family when necessary, Its general demeanor is of composure, patience, and loyalty. It is a strong-willed, independent and reserved breed. It is also attentive, quite fearless and loyal to its duties. The Great Pyrenees needs moderate exercise such as walks or shorter hikes and bike rides which they enjoy. The breed can also exercise mind and body by participating in canine-activities such as obedience trials and cart-pulling. Early socialization and puppy training classes are recommended to help give the Pyr a good start in becoming a well-adjusted, well-mannered companion. They tend to be somewhat lazy especially in warm weather. They particularly enjoy cold weather and snow.
It is an ancient breed favored by both shepherds and ruling members of France nobility, dating its appearance somewhere between 1800 and 1000 B.C.
Grooming the Pyrenees
If you adequately maintain the coat of your Great Pyrenees, you won't need to cut it's hair to keep cool in warm weather. A double-coated breed hailing from the steep Pyrenees Mountains where France borders Spain, this majestic dog has an outer coat of course straight or slightly wavy hair atop a dense, finer undercoat, rendering it virtually weather resistant. It will - "blow coat" shed its wooly undercoat-in warm weather but will need your help removing all that fluff. If you can manage 30 minutes once or twice a week to brush and rake your Great Pyrenees, its coat will remain tangle free, giving it "loft" for air to circulate & keep it comfortable in all seasons. Upkeep involves line brushing, done most effectively if you start at the same point each time, working your way around the body. Use a curved-bristle metal slicker brush. Double check your work with a wide toothed stainless steel comb or a grooming rake with teeth deep enough to penetrate to the skin. Pay particular attention to the neck and shoulders where the hair is more profuse. The tail is another area where tangles form. Shaving is not recommended as it leaves it susceptible to sunburn and can damage hair follicles so that it does not grow back in its full abundance. While brushing regularly is required, the coat sheds dirt as you brush it so it does not need frequent bathing. Always check the dewclaws (single in front, double on rear paws) and keep them trimmed, left uncut, they tend to curl around and can painfully penetrate the dog's legs.
